K.M.V. as institution that pioneered the cause of women education in northern India & has for three countries witnessed evolution in the field of education, while keeping alive its rich traditions and the spirit of patriotism welcomed the new students of the college with Saraswati Puja on 18-08-10. Saraswati Puja has been a part of KMV’s rich legacy since its inception in 1886. The ceremony begins with Vande Matram which was followed by welcome of dynamic young leader Mayor Municipal Corporation Sh. Rathore and his wife Mrs. Rathore. President KMV managing committee Sh. Chander Mohan Ji addresses the new students. He said that the coming years would mould the career of young girls so it was imperative for them to have an aim. Principal KMV Dr.(Mrs.) Atima Sharma then read the annual report highlighting the main achievements of the academic session 2010-11. 180 students achieved merit positions in the annual examination conducted by GNDU during March 2010. Many teachers were honoured for their achievements. Another two-day International Symposium on Environment Conservation is scheduled in the current session. The members of the teaching faculty got their books published while 26 others got their research publications. Under Student Exchange Programme Ms. Kim from Italy studied Indian languages, Indian Classical Dance and Culture. On this occasion Mr. Jen Kollen from France, Ms. Olicia from Spain & Ms. Lanna from China was welcomed to the KMV Fraternity.After the honours then there was an enthralling dance presented by the Head of Dept. of Dance Ms. Sufi. Mayor Municipal Corporation Sh. Rakesh Rathore spoke against corruption & female foeticide. He appreciated the work done by the college in the field of women empowerment and education. Secretary KMV managing committee Sh. Alok Sondhi gave the vote of thanks.

KMV’S CULTURAL BONANZA – A SALUTATION TO INDIA’S INDEPENDENCE

KMV is celebrating “Independence Week” with great vigour, gusto, enthusiasm and strength. KMV has had the honour of being associated with freedom struggle. The then students had made many signal sacrifices to help India achieve independence. KMV had orgranised various activities for the past few days to awaken the youth of today towards their duty to the motherland. On Aug. 13,2010 a patriotic Salutation to our motherland was organized. Students with tri-coloured faces, apparels, accessories presented a programme. Many patriotic songs were sung under the guidance of Mrs. Kamaljit, Head Dept. of Music and the Music Dept. One minute games acquainted KMVites with our rich heritage were organized. A skit with the theme of patriotism was very well executed and had the promise of leaving and indelible mark on the students. The whole atmosphere was suffusing with the spirit of patriotism. Madam Principal Dr. Atima Sharma averred that KMV has always endeavoured to acquaint the society with our glorious heritage and this week long celebration to commemorate India’s Independence are specially designed with this intent. Dr. Vinod Kalra conducted the stage immaculately. Madam Principal congratulated Mrs. Madhumeet and Mrs. Gurjot Kaur the organizers of the programme for painstakingly looking into its success.
