Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar the pioneer in women's education in Northern India has grown into a Multifaculty Postgraduate Institution and is steering the destiny of its students so as to build an empowered India. accredited A+ by NAAC-UGC, which strongly recommended its elevation to the status of a "Deemed University", the college has earned the distinction of being the only institute from Northern India to be selected by the HRD Ministry on which a documentary has been prepared.
We are fully alive to the present needs and challenges of our country in the fast changing global scenario. In this context, we are always expanding our horizons and have added more professional, technical and vocational courses to dovetail the fast changing world. Committed to preserve the traditional cultural ethos, the college effects a fine balance between the richness of the past and the techno savvy world of today by imparting value based education.
KMV endeavors to tap and promote genuine talent and aptitude of the students, to equip them with the expertise to take up the challenge of life and to produce worthy examples of empowered Indian womanhood.
The new session is going to begin and I am confident the students will avail themselves of the facilities in an institution which promotes excellence and inculcates a culture of life-long learning.

From Principal's desk
It is with a profound feeling of gratification that I write this message for my students. I am humbled by being the proud inheritor of a great tradition of the academic world called Kanya Maha Vidyalaya.
Creativity is the harbinger of change. Initiating and managing change is the greatest challenge for any organization. KMV was conceived on a radical idea that women cannot be excluded from the domain of education. Over the last century and a quarter, this has been the driving spirit of KMV. During this time, the world has changed beyond recognition. KMV as an institution has not only adapted to the change, but has also been the initiator of change, to produce women who are equal partners in the modern world. I am reminded of a famous saying by the Chinese leader Mao Tse-Tung, “Women share half the sky; but have the women been given half the globe?” This is only possible through the process of education and empowerment. In fact, in any society that has forged forward, women have been the flag-bearers.
21st century is emerging to be the century of knowledge revolution. Knowledge is going to be the key variable that will define the distribution of power in this century. Kanya Maha Vidyalaya is fully committed to transform India into a knowledge society. Keeping the forces of globalization and job-markets in focus, we will continue to nurture and foster other profitable and valuable features of higher education, so as to develop our students with broad intellectual and humanitarian horizons.
